    Fuck all bullshit.

Build a machine that will hold 60fps will all the eye candy turned on.

    Thats all you need.

You can do that with any new AMD, Intel, ATI, or Nvidia hardware.

Soy, I put my 250gb from an old AMD Athlon 3000+ straight into my new Phenom rig and ran it for 6 months no problem... Then I got a virus. Sometimes your fine. I would always try it first and see what happens. Back all your stuff up first bust!

I have seen it succeed, and in fact I have had it succeed for me once. But every time I have seen a machine function after swapping the OS to a whole new platform there are a host of problems, some small, some really big, that can never seem to be resolved. So you lucked out.

Moving an installed OS to a whole new rig is never recommended unless the rigs happen to have identical mainboards or chipsets. Moving to similar chipsets seems to allow function at least...often with errors. But swapping an OS from, say an nVidia chipset based AMD CPU install to an Intel chipset Intel CPU install will utterly fail.

Anyway: Dont do it. It might look OK if it actually works, but I guarantee there are problems under the surface..just ask Chosen who did the same thing and played on it for awhile but kept getting strange errors...
