Come to think of it... It could possibly be a bad USB device somewhere. I would try to run it after unplugging each device separately.

    Are you using onboard sound?
If so disable the soundcard via device manager and see if you still get the freezing.
    I am using onboard sound...

It's labeled "Realtek High Definition Audio" under "Sound, video and game controllers"
question: I see the disable button but where's the enable button?

I'll try disconnecting USB devices and/or move them around in different variations to see if anything happens. I'm using 2/6 for the mouse and headset.

There is no enable button until it's disabled.

I think that was the wrong thing to disable because I still hear sound...

Do I possibly need to go under "System devices" and disable "High Definition Audio Controller" instead?

Is it normal to improve your FPS when you replace a PSU?
I have seen it happen. Many strange bugs and slowdowns can be due to low or irregular power. It may be your new PSU has more stable voltage...

    It may be that one.

No, that wasn't it either....I still have sound. I don't see anything else in my device manager related to audio.
