    Sapphire HD 3850 512MB GDDR3 AGP

Is anyone still using this card? I have some questions/concerns about the "hotfixes" and updates. Specifically, once I apply the updates, CCC stops working. Any thoughts/advice (other than, get a new rig grandpa!)?

    Thanks.

3850 is just fine. Uninstall CCC and reinstall it.

So far this is all I've been able to produce:

When I click the "Advanced View" button nothing happens at all. This means all my adjustments (and the only ones I can do are screen resolution) have to be done through the Control Panel.

Unfotunately the uninstall / reinstall only managed to eliminate the message above ... no CCC or message at all now.

    Well ...

After repeated wipes, uninstall, reinstalls ... SHAZAAM! It's working. For the life of me, I do not know why it worked this last time. I'm almost afraid to type this message thinking it might jinx the process.

Anyway, last sequence of events ... deleted CCC only. Installed CCC only (9.6). Didn't work ... no CCC at all ... said "screw it" ... simply reinstalled all of the 9.6 hotfix and shut down the PC (late afternoon).

Just started up the PC and it hung ... before starting XP ... had to do a hard reboot and all loaded fine. Once XP came up, for the first time with version 9.6 CCC loaded.

I cannot explain it. I only hope it stays that way.

Thanks all the same Ruukil. Appreciate any infor I can get as I have scoured the internet for help otherwise.

Actually, that happens. Quite often in fact. CCC randomly says 'fuck you' and doesn't work right for a bit.

    Re: Sapphire HD 3850 512MB GDDR3 AGP

I pretty much turn off the system tray thing and completely forget about CCC after every new driver update. I used it early on to check GPU temps during gaming and stress testing (high 50's, low 60's Celsius) and pretty much haven't touched it since.

People actually need more things to fiddle with than simple desktop resolution and refresh rate?
