    Nope, no sarcasm.

If you can build a kick ass performance demon for less than a grand than props to you.
The build I sent him isn't the 'performance demon' but it is a big step up from his box (gateway i think he said) computer that he overpaid for. This is an upgrade on the cheap that can/will run the games of today at decent speeds though not the 'super speeds' that are available for more than I would ever care to spend. I have something similar and it runs fine with all the games currently out. I'm not maxing out settings, but that isn't as important to me as actually having money to buy games.

    Re: future build

I'm pretty sure you gotta worry more about the chipset on the mobo and the GPU being compatible. CPU to North/South Bridge to PCI buses.

Not 100% sure on this. Correct me if I'm wrong.

And BTW, running two XFX nVidia 7600GTs with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ and no problems.

    Re: future build

Yeah the interface is all good. (the physical connection).

I was saying sometimes there are issues with the mobo chipset and the GPU. I'm sure everything will work, I would just double check and do a google on the chipset and gpu compatible. I've never built an Intel machine. Cost too much for what it does. You can get an AMD that will be just as good that costs less. They are built on a better architecture.

Next to ASUS, Gigabyte is one of the most respected mobo manufacturers.

Look at the reviews on Newegg, 78% gave it 5 eggs.
