Thread: IE8 Lag

Are any of you experiencing major lag when submitting posts with IE8?

I am getting delays of up to 10 secs or so between pressing a key and it showing up on the screen.

Me thinks it's more so your ISP than IE8... Maybe just need a simple modem/router restart?

we have tried moving people to IE8 here at the University and had to put it on hold. It doesn't play well on some older machines and it's incompatible with some government websites used to do financial aid and such. Given that it wouldn't be hard to image that it may cause some problems on your system. I run FF3 and IE8 both on my work system with no problems. Older systems seem to have problems with IE8.

It's not TTP or ads. Other people are having the issue at an aviation site with no ads. It happens to me there as well.

I did some research and found a discussion regarding IE8 Beta and problems with cursor focus in php forms. That reeked of the problem some of us are seeing. I also searched Microsoft Knowledge Base, but they are not yet set up for IE8.

So far switching to a different browser has been the only solution that anyone has come up with.
