I want a new heatsink. I have an Intel Core 2 Duo Socket LGA775 and i need a very good heatsink. The warrenty on our dell is up and the temp on the CPU is pretty high for me and it gets slower as it heats up. I currently have a stock Dell 120mm fan, and the RPM (so dell says) is 1300-1800. I want a faster RPM and a bigger ammount of airflow. Price is not a big deal, i prefer buying it off of newegg.

Re: I want a new heatsink.
Hopefully the dell motherboard will be nice to other brands than their own. I wanted a new heaksink for my CPU also when I had a P4 but the motherboard had weird hole alignments. There should be some heatsinks out there that can attach without the holes (somehow) but I didn't look hard enough. Maybe Dell is better with keeping up on those things now. I imagine though if you have a Core 2 they probably used the fan that comes with it and the holes should be fine. I'm also looking for one with my Quad.

Top-notch performer: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835154001
Great value: (Very good performance, top notch price/performance ratio): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835186134
This is a perrenial winner, but availability is spotty, and it's expensive- Should be about $65- Shop around so you don't get killed on price and shipping. Get a scythe flex or a noctua fan with it. (Pushing the price even higher. But the performance is unmatched for an air cooler.)
