Apple=Fail

So I bought a new,second generation ipod Touch this week. Really a nice little Walkman....but that is about all I can do with it. I wanted to hook it up to my home stereo,and since it is a digital product,I wanted to connect it with either digital coax,HDMI,or fiber optics....seems reasonable enough.

Well....thats where the fail comes in. I paid $135 for something I thought would be perfect at Best Buy. Just a little docking station that had fiber and HDMI outs on it. Popped on the ipod,and it sounded spectacular....for about 5 minutes. Everything was perfect....until Apple's little proprietary chip detected that my ipod was not hooked up to an official Apple product. A little window popped up,and told me that I was not using an Apple supported product,and shut the ipod down.Re-tried it several times with no luck. So much for that idea....

So,I went to the local Apple store. Now I know why they have the chip in them. Apples version of the same docking station (with digital outs) was $370. FUCK THAT!! Imagine my surprise. Who would have thought that anyone would want to hook up a product that can hold 200+ cd's to a freaking home stereo.....I must be out of my gourd. I ended up back at Best Buy,and paid $10 for a cord that runs from the headphone jack on the ipod,to the analog ins on the stereo....sounds like crap,but at least there is sound coming out of the speakers. About all it will be decent for is the occasional podcast.

This is the first,and last Apple product I will ever buy. Fuck them and their proprietary bullshit. I hope that assholes body rejects his new kidney for not being a licensed Apple product.

I've heard alot of things like that so i went with the zune. It may not have the fancy touch screen but it takes all kinds of file types, works with most any accessory, and doesn't erase all of your media when you try linking with another computer. Sure i'm a bit biassed against apple but i prefer the freedom to fully use my product without paying an arm and a leg

Apple tries to act like some sort of counter culture company but is really just like Microsoft. Maybe even worse. Although there might be some homebrew sites on the internet that could change the operating system and make it more customizable?

Funny thing is....the reason I went with the ipod was because of all the accessories that are available. All of the docking stations I looked at were made for the Apple. Too bad the Apple was made to not work with them. Apple has become the evil empire they were supposed to be against.

Yeah....fuck apple.

I went with the zune....a few hiccupps, got to forget all the apple BS and relearn the way its SUPPOSED to be.

i want to get a zune for one of the biggest reasons being it isn't apple

The 2nd reason is because it uses WMA not some mp4 bullshit that i'd have to convert everything over to use apple product (or so i've heard, correct me if i'm wrong).

Really any apple product i've used, which most were computers, i've never liked
