File recovery from HD
I recently had a SATA HD go bad on me, and I would like to recover the files from it, anybody know of a utility or file extractor I could use for this? The HD itself is good, just hosed up from a botched clean up attempt after it became corrupted.
Also, I have several old EIDE drives I'd like to get old files from.
Thanks in advance.

Re: File recovery from HD
you can try mounting them as slave drives on another system. If they don't detect go into device manager and see if they show up. If they do then right click and select to mount the drive. If they don't show up you are hosed, it will take a machine that you can mount the actual platters to to get the info off and places that do that are very expensive.
