It has been done, but as far as I know its more emulation than a real install.

I've seen somebody install MacOS on one of Dell's Netbooks, so it's entirely possible.

can it be done? sure, google "mac os on PC hack install". Can it be done easily? no. MacOS is proprietary and they don't want it run on non mac hardware. You will have to find a really good support group that can lead you to the correct drivers for your hardware. Yes it requires hacking drivers and the MacOS. I have read many articles on it and deemed it long ago to be not worth the amount of effort.

I don't recommend attempting to run OS X on a non-intel chipset motherboard. If you are a hardcore PC user that loves Linux and is not afraid to compiler drivers, parts of the kernel, etc.. then google for OSX 86 and Hackintosh. There are some very active communities out their around this stuff.

Just fair warning.. you will spend a TON of time trying to get past the boot screen..

+1 Hackintosh is the name I was trying to remember when I posted above. Good site.

better yet....install any flavor of linux you choose and get a mac GUI....

exact same damned thing. OSX runs off of a unix/linux type kernel. Also, you can get flavors of linux optimized for your chipset or w/e....and free support online ^_^

Well, yes, but not everybody enjoys the whole "Wire an operating system together with your teeth" experience of customizing Linux. :P Yes, I know it's not difficult at all if you know what you're doing, but if you haven't used Linux before, even customizing the UI is going to be painful.

Hey, some people like having computers that work well! ...That you can't run anything on.
