Thread: Bad frames in TF2.

Hey guys. I hope this is the right forum to ask this but I really need help.

Up until about two patches ago I was getting a good framerate in TF2. Recently however, I have been getting frame rates that are near unplayable. I get an average of maybe 35 FPS, I get a good 45-60 by myself in an uneventful corner of the map, but if even five or so players are nearby I drop down into the mid teens/low twenties. I can't figure this out. My rig can run Call of Duty: WaW on max settings at 1600x1200 and keep a 50-80 framerate range. I can play CS:S with all max everything and get frame rates well into the hundreds. But the second I play TF2 I feel like I'm running a Voodoo 3 or something.

My specs: GeForce 9800GTX. 2 gigs of dual channel RAM. A Dual Core pentium e5200 2.5 ghz. And an onboard soundcard. I have all drivers up to date, and I just recently reformatted to try to fix my frames, it didn't help. Any ideas anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

In game do you have multi core enabled?
