Newegg going public

Guys, your making it sound like the end of the world. We DO NOT KNOW how newegg is going to perform, or what it will do. Perhaps it will follow suit with Google, and make a great place to work, except keep it like it is for the consumer.

HA. I am just playing cautious. We do not know what will happen to the customer service of newegg when it does go public. Therefor, I find it premature and a tad unfounded to be lamenting the end of a great hardware distributor. Especially since there are previous precidents of companies who had good customer and worker support and assistance continuing it, after they went public. Google, Ben and Jerry's.....

If their customer service slips, I will be there along with you guys, bitching, moaning and taking my business else where.

I spent about 4 grand at newegg. Since I moved back to Canada, I tried Tigerdirect and hated them. I shopped for small things in china town when it was convenient. And then a couple buddies told me about http://ncix.com/ and I've been going there for everything now including the $2300 rig I just built.

For some things, their prices are a bit high but they also price match which is awesome. That way they make money on people who don't care and keep you as a customer if you do.

I love competition.

Newegg in canada is bullshit. It's basically newegg in the US, plus the customs fees. I thought they had warehouses here. I paid $71 in customs fees because the warehouse that sent me my lian li case was in New Jersey. LAME!

4 grand!? Hahahaha, I've just checked my invoices as far back as they go for newegg and I have spent over $100,000 with newegg over the years for my customers and myself. They are the only place I bought parts. If this changes them I'm fucked.

Lets not throw the towel in yet, they have a huge market share primarily because they consistently rank in the top 5 most customer friendly companies to do business with. I know I have spent more money than I need to for the newegg assurance.

For the time being I will still be doing business with them, though I will keep my ears open for changes...

Read the IPO release, you can google it. Part of the 124million or so they are trying to raise in the IPO includes building a regional warehouse in Canada.

I, personally, spend about $1000 dollars a year with them for the last 4 years (

) more than I thought) and have probably had customers puchase easily 2-3x that amount in the same period. Here's hoping that they do not "sell out"

I did. Still not enough for me to steer away from ncix when that happens....

My loyalty is for sale when I'm buying, so I'll go wherever the price is good. If the service is exceptional, than I'll consider the exceptional service over the price if its minimal. I know exceptional customer service is rare these days.

I'm sure newegg is thrilled to have all of you as committed clients. Props all of you!
