I have a friend running Vista on a macbook, and he's having some serious mic issues. He's trying to use a headset to play L4D.
At first it wouldn't pick it up, and now that it has magically started working, there's terrible internal feedback. This is a headset, and his external speakers are off, but I can hear his game sounds and even my voice over his mic, but I still can't hear his voice.
So, my question is, to any of you using Vista on a Mac, is there some trick that I don't know about?

May the Mac bashing resume...
Just kidding. Not a MAC person, but if they are using Vista, my first guess would be to make sure the correct sound drivers are installed for the device. Is it a USB mic? If not, is the mic being plugged into the correct port?

Make sure in the microphone properties (in the Sound Control Panel) don't have "monitor" checked (I think that's the name of the option. I don't have a Vista machine in front of me to check) Basically what it does is have your microphone input be passed through your sound card so it comes out your speaker/headphones. That's been known to cause issues.
I imagine he has the latest revision of Bootcamp, since that's where the drivers and whatnot come from for Vista. Outside of that I don't have a lot of input. You might try to PM Jonas_of_Hand. I believe he plays 2142 on a MAC with Vista.
