Windows 7 32 vs 64 bit

This might be a very random question, but....
right now I'm running Windows XP 64 bit, and Apple(Booooo) doesn't make an iTunes update for XP 64 bit.
Thus i cant get a new ipod until i get a new OS that Apple has an iTunes update for.....
Yes i know its confusing.

Back to my question,

Does Apple make a iTunes Update for Windows 7, 64bit?

I thought you were going from Vista 64 to Windows 7 64 bit. In your case, you will definitely see an increase in RAM usage. There are tweaks to tone it down though. I used 2GB in Windows Vista 64 bit on a fresh start up. I use about 1GB in Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

iTunes 9 x64 runs just fine under Windows 7 64bit.

Aside from my cell phone drivers, meh, everything runs fine on Windows 7 home 64.

I had major issues using SQL Server 2008 Express Edition with Advanced Services and SP1 on the 64 bit version of Windows 7. I got a lot of randome server crashes...

I switched my lappy to Windows 7 32 bit edition, upgraded SQL to SP1 and now I don't have any issues. There are some applications that don't like Windows 7 64 bit edition, but for what you are doing, it should be fine.

All versions of Vista and 7 have an XP compatibility option. Windows 7 Professional has an XP mode which is a virtual machine running XP.

64 bit allows 64 bit integers to be passed through. There is no reason to get a 32 bit operating system. Windows 7 64 bit can run 32 bit programs just fine. It is better for future purposes. Programs are being coded for multi-thread/64+ bit processors.
