Re: XMAS Laptop!
Out of curiosity, what is the work she will be doing on the laptop?
If nothing is all that intensive, I would highly recommend looking at a netbook and using the leftover cash for a SSD. It'll save you a few dollars and will be much lighter and have a much longer battery life.
My buddy just got one of the cheapo best buy netbooks and tossed an 80gig SSD in it... He claims it has a 10+ hour battery life.

If it s a gift you will come off as an asshole if you ask for something else....thats a great laptop, so enjoy it. Of course, once you game on it...you will end up right back on your desktop bc its not even comparable. I have an alienware M17x and even with its power, its puny compared to my full tower beast.

Not trying to say you are getting a piece of shit or anything. Any computer can last if kept in the right hands. The only reason I am typing all of this is so that you are prepared with the correct warranty information. The last thing you want is to have no record of the purchase date which could hinder a warranty repair.
