Crucial
Gskill
Corsair
OCZ
All good and reputable brands. I am personally using OCZ Reaper 800 MHz, overclocked to 960MHz @ 2.25v. The documentation on the memory said it is stable to 2.2v, but I have not had a problem in the 2 years of owning the sticks. Very dependable, great overclocking and stability. I HIGHLY recommend OCZ Reaper memory from years of personal experience.

Re: My RAM is dying...alternatives?
fml...punkbuster is kicking me for a corrupted memory error. I just sent an RMA request direct to patriot as newegg no longer sells the sticks and does not allow RMA on purchases over 90 days. 7/15/08 I think is a little over 90 days from 12/6/2009 no?

Re: My RAM is dying...alternatives?
I am specking out for a new build with DDR3 RAM and a MOBO to handle it and I have narrowed it down to these 3 possibilities:
OCZ Gold 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Voltage Desktop Memory Model OCZ3G1600LV6GK ~$150
CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TR3X6G1600C8D ~$254
CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model TR3X6G1600C8 G ~$175
Edit: OCZ 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model OCZ3X1600R2LV6GK ~$165 hell, I'll through this one in as well as its better than the two other Corsair's in terms of what I get for the price.
For the life of me, I CANNOT find a difference with these different sets of RAM other than the price, and one is made by OCZ (the cheaper one). Right now, I am leaning towards the OCZ stuff, but I want to make sure that I am not missing something HUGE.
They are all x58 and core i7 compatible.
