    Well, this sucks.

To find out, after rebuilding my computer, that I killed (99% chance) my video card.

Currently, I am running a GeForce 7800 GT (430 MHz core, 500 MHZ memory (x2).
    I had a GeForce 8500 GT, originally 450 MHz Core, 400 MHz Memory (x2).
But it was overclocked to 695 MHz Core, and 485 MHz Memory (x2.) And then it died.

I'm looking ahead (for later, maybe two to six months later) for, oh...... maybe a 150-200 $ (100-150 preferred.) video card. Peformance is an issue (duh.) I play a little TF2, a few older games, and BF2142, occasionally a game of BF2. Any suggestions?

Ah. I also have a Pentium D 2.8 GHz processor. Without upgrading the motherboard, anyone know of somewhere that has a Presler XE ( or the highest compatible CPU for http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-589-_-Product that motherboard, which supports :Pentium EE / Pentium D / Pentium 4 HT / Celeron D ? I know what kind they/it is/are, I just can't find anywhere that has them.

    Suggestions appreciated.

First, You can get some really nice video cards for that amount of money. I believe the new generation of ATI cards can be had for that range (Look at the ATI 5770s). As well as there is the nVidia 260 GTX. Either of those will do you well and they are about $180. Keep in mind that although your board only has PCIe X16 1.0 slots, a X16 2.0 card will work since they are backwards compatible. I would recommend getting a 2.0 card for if/when you upgrade the mobo, CPU, and RAM.

The bad news for a new vid card is considering the age of your machine, you might need to upgrade the PSU as well.

As for a new CPU, you are extremely limited as to what you can use/find since your board is so old. Since it doesn't support multi cores, you're stuck with a single core ALTHOUGH! NewEgg does happen to have a processor that will work with your mobo (I checked compatibility on Asus' website for you). The bad new is that it's probably the same one you have now.

    First: Thanks

    Second: I have a 600w PSU

Third, this motherboard does support dual core CPU's. That's what I'm running, a dual 2.8. I know what I'm looking for( Sort of....), I just don't know of anywhere that has them.

    Thanks for the GPU advice!

    This is what I have

This is what I'm looking for, I just can't find it.
