    The i5 is a mainstream chip. It does not compare to an i7 in performance. The 1366 socket is aimed for top performance where as the 1156 socket is for mainstream (cost/performance). The i5 also does not offer multithreading.
    Yup, I'm aware of all that, but I read this article and was amazed how well the i5-750 actually performs in the real world. It beats the i7-920 in some cases.

    You can also find the i7-920 for pretty cheap on eBay from reputable sellers, and the warranty comes from Intel based on DOM anyway. It's worth looking into if it can save you $100.

    Fair enough. Lemme know how the OC goes just don't go too crazy off the bat and kill you CPU like my bud did on his first OC. Mind you he was pissing around with a Flamecott P4. I told him if he wanted to OC a CPU back then it should have been one of the mid range AMD 64's that could be pushed quite well.
