allright, assuming that your card in the PC is a wireless - N and we know the router is an N.. the solution I came up with for a relative who insisted on using their multi-shousand dollar wood hutch for a PC and couldn't understand why their PC wasn't getting any wireless signal (through all sorts of cabinent walls..) was the http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0255888 D-Link Systems Xtreme N 2.4GHz Antenna cables hooked to the wirelss card in the PC down low and mounted the little 3x antenna thing up further on the wall on the side of the cabinent (or different space for yourself) helped substantially... as to the wireless router, the sleek black classy things just don't put out much signal to begin with, look for extended range plus, MIMO and other things on the box for new ones if you decide to go that route...the antenna signal extender thing might just do the trick for you though
