Re: Windows 7 RC files, Access Denied
I just had a similar problem with XP... I had to format the drive...
If it's the only thing on there, just format it :P
Might check to see if your on an administrator account when trying to delete them.
Might also check to make sure you're not booted into windows using that harddrive.

right click on the drive/folders and go to security and reset the permissions to them. If you don't have a security tab you need to turn off simple file sharing. Google it, It's pretty simple to reset permissions as long as you are an admin on the machine.

you can use a dos command but I am not sure it will work in windows 7 or not. You have to use the attib command to display the attributes of the files (read only, etc) attrib <filename> -r will toggle read only for example. Once the protected attributes are removed you can simply delete it in dos.

Re: Windows 7 RC files, Access Denied
I think i know the problem,
I have XP on C:/
and 7 RC on E:/
XP uses boot.ini
7 RC uses BCDEDIT.exe
So when it boots its running BCDEDIT.exe so it can see the old and new OS I can choose "windows 7" or "Older OS" or whatever its called. Since its running the BCDEDIT.exe and thats on E:/ I can't delete those files even on XP, Question is how do i get it to boot off of XP's boot.ini again?
