    Re: HELP!

I was going to say, why you bothering with win xp pro on a new build instead of win 7? Its much superior. Your problem was probably the fact that your mobo had PCIP enabled but win XP doesnt like that. PCIP needs to be activated to run vista or later. That would have been my bet.
    Code:
      ____ U ___ u _____ U _____ u __ __ ____ _ __ _ _ U _____ u
    U| _"\ u \/"_ \/|_ " _| \| ___"|/U|' \/ '|uU| _"\ u|"|/ / ___ | \ |"| \| ___"|/

     | __/.-,_| |_| | /| |\ | |___ | | | | | __/U/| . \\u | | U| |\ |u | |___
     |_| \_)-\___/ u |_|U |_____| |_| |_| |_| |_|\_\ U/| |\u |_| \_| |_____|

    Re: HELP!

I've found many old games that do not run (as they should) on Win 7. I've setup a XP install just for this reason on my desktop, although my laptop doesn't seem to have the space for it.. (only 100 gb left out of 320 and shrinking every day :P)

    Re: HELP!

I got a similar error on Win XP after having a working computer for more than 4 years. I was pugging on TF2, shut off my pc and then got the following message:
    Stop 0x00000024 0x001902FE, 0xB84EB3DC, 0XB84EB0D8, 0x8AE34805.

I tried running every single startup mode (safe etc.) and nothing worked. Will try testing out individual components in next couple of days.

Yungryder, was your solution to the problem simply get a new OS?

each individual stop code has a meaning that you have to look up.
0x24 means that there is a problem with the NTFS file system

I'm reading around and a good first step seems to be get recovery console and use chkdsk /r
If you have your windows XP CD, boot from it and there should be an option to start recovery console from the menu. Once there, run chkdsk /r, see if it finds anything, then reboot.

What version of win 7 64? I am using home premium and all is fine. Are people not hearing you in game? You have to manually hit the boost mic gain in the sound options menu to enable the games to recognize your voice.
    Code:
