Virus attack - Lost task manager
I got attacked by one of those 2010 security viruses.
I get a fake scan on my PC that says I have all these problems.
I ran the AVG 9 on it but it is still here and the wierdest thing is the task manager doesn't work.
A lil box pops up that says " Task manager disabled by administrator".
Does anyone know how to fix that ?

To re-enable Task Manager, try this: http://www.pchell.com/support/taskmanagerdisabled.shtml
You may first want to download Malwarebytes here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php Install it, update it, then boot into safe mode and run a full scan. That will clean out most malware. Do you know which bug you picked up?"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."

You might try this program and run the Policies checker (remove the virus first, otherwise anything you do in the registry to fix the problem could easily be reversed on next boot).

Re: Virus attack - Lost task manager
Just reloaded windows for a friend that got the same virus. I got the 2009 version last year. It is a bitch. It will lock you out of the registry, shut down your internet and even prevent you from entering safe mode. Only way I got it off his laptop was by booting to the windows CD and starting over.
