To throw another monkey in your wrenches (or... something like that): http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...0,2433-14.html

In short, the difference in terms of real performance between the 1366's full x16/x16 lanes and the 1156's 8x/8x arrangement is almost nothing; the cards just don't saturate the PCIe bandwidth (the major concern with fewer lanes).

As for the six-core processors, they're a gimmick; unless you routinely use heavily multi-threaded applications, they give you no benefit and with apps that aren't built to handle that many threads the additional cache latency really ends up hurting performance. Triple-channel memory has little real-world benefit, and the extra memory will be largely wasted unless you're into some seriously heavy computing.

Unless you're made of cash, I would highly suggest the 1156 platform (for cost, heat, power consumption and performance). Neither of them are very difficult to O/C at all: good chips, good cooling and a good PSU are far more important than one over the other, and will see you right in your goals.

Sweet! I don't think you'll regret it. Let us know how you like it once it arrives.

Good find. My guess is that this would only come into play at very high clocks (4.0GHz+), but I have not tested it so I can not say for sure. In the end if you can afford the 930 along with everything else you want I doubt you will be disappointed. If on the other hand you need that extra $$$ to upgrade another component don't be afraid of stepping down to the 860.
