Just a small tidbit here, you can avoid the auto-shutdown by using the following command (Start > Run): shutdown /a (aborts scheduled shutdown, had to use this all the time back in the blaster worm days!)

Ah good ole blaster, I remember those days with jo.....what am I saying?

As for the name, nothing by itself necessarily. But....it is just one more piece of information about your PC that doesn't need to be spread all over the net. Same reason (to a degree) that the admins/mods try not to publish IP addresses.
