Re: T MINUS TEN MINUTES!!!
Having an iphone and it being the first apple product I've ever liked... I'm still hyped about this because it's basically a bridge between osx and the iphone.
As far as it being just another tablet... Well... that remains to be seen and that kind of attitude is no more valid than those that bitch and moan about a game before it comes out. Details are only now coming out. If it has an OLED screen (which may or may not be the case) then it's a game changer. The proximity sensors are going to allow more interactivity than any other tablet I've seen (and I own one of the first tablet computers ever made... it's a 286...) I've used a bunch and haven't been impressed really, but this has the potential to be...... different.
We'll see. So far it's just been iphone-like functionality.

Re: T MINUS TEN MINUTES!!!
Looks really cool till you drop the sucker and go OH SHIT...Wonder how durable these things are. Nothing can ever replace a good ole fashioned book to read, but honestly, the thought of having a library in your hand to read at will, is nice. I could see someone sitting in a corner reading e books off of these. Be better than a laptop.

Re: T MINUS TEN MINUTES!!!
If it's anything like the iphone it will shatter into a bajillion pieces if you drop it. That's the only thing I really dislike about the iphone.
It doesn't have an OLED screen. So battery life will be nothing like epaper ebook readers. The new ibook store though will use the epub format which is open source (writing an editor for the format myself) so that's good. Battery life of one month stand-by or 10 hours use. I never read a book for 10 hours straight so I suppose that's not a HUGE limit. But I was really looking for an OLED reader. There's a couple in the pipeline though.
(Yes I know I'm focusing on the ereader functionality... that would be my primary use for it)
