Yeah I figured it would start at 500... But without an OLED screen I can't see it being justified. Especially with the 500 dollar model being only 16 gig.

    I'm unfortunately unsold and disappointed.

I'll go with the DR750 reader when it comes out.

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.

Basically a giant Ipod touch, hmmm.

I'm not a fan of apple's computer offerings, but was always impressed by their ipod line. This one though...dunno.

Seems like a tweener of a product. Too big to be mobile, too cumbersome to bother using at home where one could just use a netbook/small lappy.

Are you serious? how is this more cumbersome than a netbook? 7.9" screen (smaller than most netbooks). 0.5" thick, 1.5 lbs... It's intended to be a tweener. It's supposed to fall between the iPhone and a full blown laptop.

    I don't get it...at all.

The tablet...as a replacement for anything, doesn't add up to me.

The iPhone (along with lots of new smart phones) is cool, because it does everything, and fits in your pocket. Do they expect me to stroll around town with one to find AT&T hotspots? Should I get a European Carry-all for it? Bleh...nonsense.

If I have a bag with me, it's a laptop bag, and I'm traveling...and I have my laptop...and it does everything a tablet does - minus the app-store....but it's a PC so all it IS is apps. LOL.

Look at Captain Picard...he had a tablet, and it never left his desk. The man didn't even have pockets!

    Like I said, I don't get it.

Typing on that glass pad is pretty cumbersome to me, would get old quick.

So you hook up a keyboard to it, and now you have a weird looking netbook that you paid $300 too much for.

Yeh, my $500 laptop is far superior and versatile. Yes, it's bigger... but as soon as you get bigger than pocket size, it's all the same to me. 10" vs 17"... both require a small bag to carry. 1lb vs 5lbs? Who cares.
