Ohh...you said ipod.
I'm an itunes fan....especially now that they're letting go and having the + tracks that are easier to move around.
however....I'm not down with how it was before, and still a bit today, where, if you lose your entire library...HDD crash, whatever....you can't simply log in on your new laptop or PC, load up itunes, and download your library again. STEAM does that. so why not itunes?
not cool. I bought it, I own it. forever.

Re: Apple iPad
I agree, that's lame. I don't use iTunes, at all. Don't even have it installed (though I used to years ago). I use Winamp to interface with my iPod these days, and I don't purchase tracks online, mostly I just rip CD's. Guess I'm old fashioned in that respect.
There are a lot of things I don't like about the iPod and will gladly replace it when something better is offered. The main things it has going are: it has a lot of space, and it has good sound quality, and it is reliable. The basics, really. I really wanted to get an Archos 5 but can't get over the reviews about how much it crashes.

itunes works, ipod is by far the most user friendly personal music device. They both have flaws, the biggest is their anti piracy policies that keep you from using your own music. I want to be able to have my account on multiple computers and be able to access it easily. Have an apple cloud that I can sync with.
iphones suck, everyone I know has it because its 'cool' I love my blackberry and feel it is much better
Mac had computers in alot of classrooms in the 90s, I guess that marketing is paying off now.
People I know that use apple are arogant bastards that look down their noses. Then bitch because their programs arent 100% compatible.
I'm a PC and windows7 was my idea... lol

Whenever itunes can explain the value of spending 10 dollars to download a cd that I can physically buy/own and rip onto my computer for the same price, I'll start buying digital media. They save the overhead costs of physical production/retail sales, and give you a big F you, by keeping it all instead of passing down any price savings to the consumer.
I just randomly looked at a top selling album on itunes, 10.99 for download, 9.99 for cd at best buy.
Till then its just a mechanism to get dan patrick podcasts onto my shuffle for me. :P

I'm also an apple hater but i have an ipod. Like veo said, the capacity is what draws me in. I have a huge library and I love the idea of having it all in one little device that fits in my pocket. I also like the way the music is organized. I don't muck around with the itunes store however, the vast majority of my music is ripped from cds.
