Win7, CD Drive Disabled After Sleep

So my CD/DVD/Virtual CD Drives get disabled after I wake up from sleep (simply have to re-enable them in device manager)...

    This is annoying...

Been googling the problem, but haven't found a solution... anyone here?

Is your MOBO Win7 supported? I have the M3N-HT Deluxe/Mempipe and I have the same damn problem. It has continually gotten worse though. I've had bouts where the PC will come up after sleep and then the video completely goes blank and i have to reboot. Upon rebooting, the PC won't even post, and I have to fully power down (15sec) then flick the rear PSU switch. I have a RMA opened with ASUS but ordered a newer board M4N82 Deluxe to see if it remedies anything. At first I thought it was my chipset but Nvidia released a newer one, and everytime I went to install it gave me the message that it's already at the latest update. I also, even have times where my USB ports randomly disappear after coming back from sleep. It seems like a big problem over on the ASUS forums with boards non-Win7 supported. (check their listing).

windows 7 boots really fast as it is. Don't use sleep mode and problem solved.

It also randomly disabled them on restart also.

I'm using an ASUS G51Vx (Notebook) and had the free win7 upgrade (even got a disk to upgrade with) so they kinda dropped the ball if it's "not supported".

Did you do the upgrade or a clean install of Windows 7? I also got a Windows 7 upgrade disc with my ASUS laptop (K70-AB) and I didn't actually do an upgrade. I did a clean install of Windows 7 using the key that came with the upgrade disc. Works great. Haven't noticed any issues with drives being disabled/missing when it goes into sleep mode. I don't use it a lot, but when I do, it goes into sleep mode on its own (I haven't tweaked the power settings at all.)

    Clean install.

And need I emphasize that this only started happening recently... Some setting could have been tweaked by a program or something another... anyone know what it could be?
