Comp Won't Start
So I go to turn on my computer (desktop) and everything is booting up as usual. No unusual screens, messages, etc... All of a sudden right the windows logo comes on and loads everything, it shuts off. I try it again, now it comes on for literally 2 seconds then goes off. I can't even make it to the desktop let alone boot it up in safe mode.
PS gone bad?
Something connected to the PS came loose?
I dunno. Has anyone else had this problem before?

Re: Comp Won't Start
In cases like this your best bet is to start by reseating components, ensuring all your cabling is good.
Seen this happen also when the processor is overheating rapidly, bad PSUs, shorts in components. whole miriad of things
Btw are you able to get into the BIOS?

Re: Comp Won't Start
When you say "it stays on for 2 seconds then goes off" do you mean it reboots again? Or the PC shuts down entirely? If it shuts down entirely very quickly after boot and stays off (doesn't reboot itself) it maybe a heating issue (like your CPU fan has broken entirely, or lost power, or your heatsink as come loose from the socket and is no longer cooling the CPU). If your machine reboots over and over again trying to load Windows I'll bet you an e-beer your hard drive just shit a brick.

Re: Comp Won't Start
It shuts off completely, and does NOT reboot. And considering it won't stay on for longer than 2 seconds, the BIOS doesn't seem like an option.
Honestly, I havent even peeked inside the case yet. I have a headache and a laptop I can use for now, so I'm not dying to figure out what's wrong with it tonight. I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue before and to get a gameplan going into tomorrow.
