Well, the problem with getting advice on here about a build is everyone has different goals. Some people want the cheapest, some what the absolute best, some want a certain brand, etc. Can't please them all.

Correct. "#1" is subjective and dependent on the user's goal. When you find your #1... you're ready to make your purchase.

I bought a Toyota Corolla 5 years ago and it was my #1 choice. There are plenty of faster and better looking cars, but based on what I was looking for, this was my best choice.

People asking for simple advice though usually don't want to do the research themselves.

This might come as a shock to you but Asus has boards in the low mid and high cost range.

Wow... lol Well, I went ahead and made the purchase, I did change the vid card to asus brand, it was cheaper and from what I was reading people seemed to be having less probs with them.
