    Virus or Something...

    Whatever it is, it's annoying.

Randomly my CD/DVD/BD-Rom drives will be disabled.

That's about all there is to it.

    I'm running win7 home pro.

Do you have daemon installed? I have had issues in the past with Daemon and it making my other CD/DVD drives disappear.

That I do... But I do not have it running on startup... I hardley use it anyway (cept when I need to mount an image).
Could that still be affecting it?

Are they disabled? Or are they not being found by Windows at all?

I would try an uninstall of daemon, do a reboot and see what happens. Next option would be to see if the connections to your drives are good or connected properly in the back.

Other than that, go into your BIOS and see if it is in there as one of your boot options.

    Re: Virus or Something...

win 7 + daemon = finicky. I used to use daemon all the time but in the early betas of win 7 daemon caused many problems. I switched to a free app called Virtual clone drive. Works great.

    Re: Virus or Something...

k guys, thanks for the help... (The drives are just disabled, and since the problem is intermittent I'll post here if it happens again).
