So how much RAM do you have? You need at least 2gb ... 3gb if you're running Vista/Win7.

You dont need the video card so that is 681 as it stands for one heck of a powerful PC. You could do even cheaper if you go the AMD route without losing much gaming performance.
If you work off their econo box you could be set and gaming with style for under 5 bills

good set up......I wouldn't buy a new video card. Save it for later...

I'm pleased with my Corsair PSU; how about one of these:

    I have the 650W unit.

Anymore, 500 watts may be the bare minimum you'd want to buy. With the 5770, you may want to consider the possibility of later going crossfire, so you'll want more wattage for that.

Play around with the Newegg power supply calculator. I found out my system was under-powered and it was causing me all sorts of stability issues.

Agree. Even 500w would marginal for a serious gaming machine.

Also, there's price. At Newegg, the 3 "Best Rated" PSUs are separated by only $14.

    Corsair 550w - $85 after MIR+Ship - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139004
    Corsair 650w - $76 after MIR+Ship - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139005
    Corsair 750w - $90 after MIR+Ship - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139006

The 650w is currently the "Best Buy".

    ATI HD5770 or less?

    Re: ATI HD5770 or less?

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered a new video card:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150433

I went with the ATI Radeon 4650 with 1 GB of DDR2 VRAM. I wanted to get the HIS 4670 with 1 GB of DDR3 VRAM, because the memory clock speed of DDR3 is like 2x the speed at 1600 MHz compared to the 800 MHz of DDR2, but the jump in price was $40+. This system I have is aging and I'm just trying to squeeze a little more life out of it before I build a whole new rig sometime next year!
