Nvidia GTX 480/470 Video Card
I finally found a chart that I can compare to what I have. Though the Fermi is quite hot, I eventually think I will get one and water cool it.
I found this link and chart that benchmarks with Farcry 2 which I know Enu and myself have both benched our systems with.
The link to Fuddzilla:http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/18479/1/ and the benchmark image from that page:
I think that I am getting 36fps with two 9800gtx+'s in sli. I can't remember what he got for his bench but I think that it was about 112fps with 8xAA in crossfire. I want to say even though the card is rather hot and uses a ton of power, I don't think that it will really affect me that much in the pocket with the electric bill. I will probably wait a little while longer to see if they come out with a duel GPU card or maybe buy two 470's and put them in sli. Still on the fence with that decision.
Has anyone else benched with Farcry 2 and if so what was your FPS as well as your system that you used?

No one has one of these yet, they have only just started showing as available at online retailers like newegg and they are in extremely limited numbers. Currently if your not getting a card directly from nvidia your not getting one.

Re: Nvidia GTX 480/470 Video Card
I was addressing your question if anyone has tried with Farcry...
And I wouldnt expect much in the way of heat and power, the physical design of the video card will remain and will continue to be as big of a pig as it is now.
Sure a couple of companies will come out with quieter cooling solutions, and some will likely come out with better cooling, but what the cards are now is exactly what they will be in 6 months: Shit.

Mury
I'm sort of caught in a tough place, on one hand I want to buy a 5870 which would be okay but I know that I am going to want to do a crossfire setup. At that point I would have to purchase a new mobo, proc and ram which would cost me a whole lot more than I really want to spend. So though nividia may not be up to par in your eyes it is the less expensive way to go for people that have a Sli system.

Personally.I am staying away from the duel GPU cards from now on. One GPU dies, and you are screwed.....that is what happened with my 4870x2. At least in CF/sli,you can still have a card running while the other is out for RMA or replacement.

Re: Nvidia GTX 480/470 Video Card
Personally, dual video card setups are unnecessary. If you tell me your running a 30 inch monitor we can start to discuss possibly needing a SLI like setup, but otherwise it is a waste of money.
Your own screenshot showed a single 470 is able to push farcry at ultra with 4x AA at near 80 FPS which is WAY more than enough horsepower
Sure there are some real rough games out there, like metro2033 that put a hurt on a single card, but I believe that is a coding issue in metro and isnt entirely realistic. I guess if metro2033 is your one true love and are buying a card to play that specifically...
