Mic problems need help.
Ok this is kind of similar to Cyanide's thread, but different problem.
I just recently bought a Creative Xfi-go to replace the old usb adapter for my headset (my dog ran into the old one and busted it pretty good). I love the sound Im getting from this, but the mic is having some wierd issues in game and our of game.
Firstly, the mic is on all the time. Ive tried muting it using the sound manager, but it mutes it for everything and I cant use it in game.
Secondly when Im in game and try to use my mic I get a looping sound. I can say one word and it just loops over and over and over untill it becomes really distorted and I cant use my mic at all. I have messed with every mic setting in the creative software and out of it and still get the problem.
Oh so it doesnt get asked later. Im using Windows XP 32 bit for an os.
any help or suggestions?

Most X-Fi's have a setting in the drivers somewhere that sets the type of input whether it's a Line-In or Microphone... If it's set to Line-In it may seem like it's not picking up anything because the input isn't being run through the card's pre-amp.
As for how you set it... I can't even begin to tell you... I dumped Creative 2 years ago...
