05-04-10, 08:04 PM #1Video Cards
Ok this is the last time i'm probably going to ask for video card advice. This, i think, will be my 3rd? I'm a bit confused on some of the cards nVidia is coming out with, such as their GT series. What the hell is difference with the GT series? They sound like they suck.
Next is what chipset should i go with for a new card? ATI or Nvidia? And is there anything good for under $150? I need something with sufficient cooling since i'm now enclosing my case, i don't want it to heat up too much. I've found some cards, a lot of them that are good, but it's a hard decision to make on which series to get.
No rush, im not in desperate need of a new card. Just need to know whats good for the money.

Re: Video Cards
I have a GTX260 I got at quakecon last year, and I'm very happy with it.
my dad picked one up a month or two ago at Fry's for like, 150, and he's also very happy with it.
my bro has a GTX150 he paid like, 120-130 for, and he is also very happy.....
the GTX line is fairly well priced, and have damned good performance.

Right now, buying any nVidia card outside of the 400 series is pointless (and even then with the supply issues and price...) Investing in old technology to me makes no sense. Asides from that, ATI owns the market right now pretty much across the board with the combination of their price and performance.
