5k in 3dmark06? You have something really fucked up... With my 8800GT and AMD X2 3800 @ 3.0ghz I hit 10k... Now im over 13k with my Intel rig. . You got some shit wacked out ...

did you install your motherboard drivers?
and are using up to date video drivers?
did you have AA and AF at like 8x and 16x?
did you have vertical sync on?
that score is seriously low.

yeah im gonna have a bud come over and show me how to oc it like a pro...guy know it better than anyone ive ever known. i know its easy i just want someone who knows what their doing to do it....and he's saying ill get a 12k score when hes done.

You might get another 300 to 400 mhz out of that processor... Those AMD chips are just about at their limits at stock so a huge overclock isnt going to happen.. Unless you use some exotic cooling like a pelt or phase.

Focus on getting your ram timings tighter and maybe overclocking your ram a bit to get some more bandwidth happening.

Also if your overclocking your video card .. you must look and see what memory chips you have on the card if they are the samsung chips they will oc past 2000mhz if they have the qimonda chips they start to self destruct above 2000mhz.. And looking to see requires you to take the heatsink off the card and clean the goo off the chips to read them.
