Exactly what I was thinking. Plus an OC'ed GTX570 would run cooler than the GTX 295. I read that an OC'ed 570 is just a hair under a stock 580 and it's quite a bit cheaper too.

You get the 6.0 GB/s Caviar blacks or the 3.0 GB/s ones? How much better is the load times with those?

And is a Raptor worth it?

I believe my 640 GB drives are only 3.0 GB/s and they are the ones with 32 MB cache vs the 64 MB cache. Before I bought them I was reading some reviews and test results were showing that the 32 MB cache drives were actually out performing the 64 MB drives. Go figure... The load times are MUCH better with the RAID drives vs one single drive. When I say much better, I mean they are nearly twice as fast. I am very happy with the raid setup. I am going RAID-0, which is risky, but it is pretty much just games and junk. I have plenty of storage for important stuff.

As for the Raptor, I have had it for a few years. It was the fastest drive I could find for a boot drive at the time as SSDs were outrageous expensive. Shortly after I bought it, the Velociraptor came out that performs a bit better than the raptor. Bottom line is a 60 GB SSD will spank a 74 GB Raptor or Velociraptor for a boot drive.

Pretty crappy dell lol but it gets the job done. Whats missing there is my 5.1 headset.

I used to have that same desk. My 19" Sony Trinitron CRT crushed it. The desk broke... monitor fell to the floor, and it still worked like a champ! The monitor... not the desk.

Dual monitors might not be the best idea then -.- lol but it's a good desk to me but theres that annoying bar in the way of my feet!

Oh, I liked the desk, but my Sony Trinitron weighed like 65 lbs or some crap. It was a beast.
