Icons are Gone!!!

My icons are disappearing. I can get them back by right clicking desktop, unchecking "show icons" then rechecking "show icons". I thought it was Vista so i upgraded to Windows7 and it is still doing it. it seems to be happening after i minimize or close a fullscreen window, but they dont come back on there own so far.

from win7 forums

right click desktop>personalization>change desktop icons>restore default>ok

then do

right click desktop>view>show desktop items

thats just it. the "show desktops icons" is checked already. even though i cant see the icons.

you have desktop cleanup turned on? It moves your unused icons off the desktop.

You have to reset icons to default first

i am not sure, but its all of my 50 icons and i use 10-20 of them everyday, so it shouldnt be all of them.

yeah i tried it when you suggested it, and right now coming home they are all gone. even thought the check on "show desktop icons" is checked.

i happens when i come out of suspend or sleep i think.

Sacred, try to keep it from sleeping or hibernating to check if that's when it happens. Every bit of info helps. Control Panel->System->Power options I think.
