Need recommendations for a color laser printer!
Hey guys, thought I might seek your advice
As my Canon MP470 no longer works as a printer (refuses to grab paper from the tray) and my Samsung ML-1710 prints splotchy pages and has no color capabilities, I want to get a new printer =/
Leaning more towards a color laser to help reduce overall costs. Office Depot and OfficeMax both have sales on the following:
Office Max
Samsung CLP-315W @ $179
http://www.officemax.com/technology/...ct-prod2041791
Samsung CLX-3175FW @ $299
http://www.officemax.com/technology/...ct-prod2780195
Brother HL 3070CW @ $299
http://www.officemax.com/technology/...ct-prod2820123
Brother HL-3050CN @ $249
http://www.officemax.com/technology/...ct-prod2041791
After reading into the printers I discovered that the Brother utilizes a drum that you have to replace after around 3 toner changes. The drum is bout $100.
This printer will also be used at my father's workplace, a small auto repair shop when i'm done with my semester.
Taking into consideration the cost of the toners or other necessary accessories...
What are your opinions? Any better printers out there?Last edited by Bane; 06-08-10 at 06:14 PM.

Ended up picking up the Samsung CLP-315W Heck it was only 179. The 4 ppm color bothers me, but I dont plan to use color that much.
My dad prints wireframe automotive diagrams so he's going to be the one using it the most at his work.

Color laser printers basically print each color individually, so you will expect it to be 1/4 the black & white printing speed at a minimum since there's 4 colors that need to be processed. High speed color laser printers are pricey.
