    Anandtech: Intel Launches Wi-Fi 6 AX200 Wireless Network Adapter

    Intel has quietly launched its first Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) wireless network adapter, codenamed Cyclone Peak. The new WLAN adapter will deliver up to 2.4 Gbps network throughput when used with a compatible access point, but, like Wi-Fi 6 in general, its main advantage is that it will work better than existing adapters in RF-noisy environments where multiple Wi-Fi networks co-exist.

    Anandtech: Logitech Unveils Slim Folio Pro Keyboard for 3rd Gen iPad Pro

    Logitech this week has introduced its new keyboard cases for Apple’s latest 3rd Gen 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro tablets. The Logitech Slim Folio Pro keyboard features backlighting and has a row of shortcuts supported by Apple’s latest iOS. Furthermore the protective case is also designed to allow for easier sketching using Apple Pencil stylus.

    Anandtech: GIGABYTE to Bundle Pre-Tested Core i9-9900K CPU at 5.1 GHz with the $899 Z

    GIGABYTE this week announced plans to offer its top-of-the-range Intel Z390-based motherboard with Intel’s Core i9-9900K processor in a combination package. The CPU is handpicked and pre-tested to run at 5.1 GHz on all cores, while the motherboard is fitted with a pre-made water block for the power delivery and processor. The Z390 Aorus Xtreme Waterforce 5G Premium Edition Bundle will be available shortly, but its price is currently unknown.

    Anandtech: Ready for Intel’s New R0 9th Generation ‘Coffee Lake’ CPUs? BIOS Updates N

    Back in March it turned out that Intel was prepping a new stepping of its Coffee Lake processors that was due to arrive in the second quarter. By now, all leading makers of desktop motherboards have issued BIOS updates for their platforms that enable support of Intel’s 9th Gen Core CPUs featuring a new stepping ID. The processors are reportedly due next month.

    Anandtech: TSMC’s 5nm EUV Making Progress: PDK, DRM, EDA Tools, 3rd Party IP Ready

    TSMC this week has said that it has completed development of tools required for design of SoCs that are made using its 5 nm (CLN5FF, N5) fabrication technology. The company indicated that some of its alpha customers (which use pre-production tools and custom designs) had already started risk production of their chips using its N5 manufacturing process, which essentially means that the technology is on-track for high-volume manufacturing (HVM) in 2020.

    Anandtech: Intel Architecture Manual Updates: bfloat16 for Cooper Lake Xeon Scalable

    Intel recently released a new version of its document for software developers revealing some additional details about its upcoming Xeon Scalable ‘Cooper Lake-SP’ processors. As it appears, the new CPUs will support AVX512_BF16 instructions and therefore the bfloat16 format. Meanwhile, the main intrigue here is the fact that at this point AVX512_BF16 seems to be only supported by the Cooper Lake-SP microarchitecture, but not its direct successor, the Ice Lake-SP microarchitecture.

    Anandtech: Pricing of Intel’s Optane DC Persistent Memory Modules Leaks: From $6.57 P

    At least two retailers from the US on Friday have started to take pre-orders on Intel’s Optane DC Persistent Memory modules and therefore had to reveal their prices. Today they only offered 128 GB and 256 GB modules, possibly indicating that the range-topping 512 GB Optane is set to ship a bit later.
