New Phone to buy... no flame wars, but honest opinions

    Ok, so here's the deal.
I'm upgrading my BlackJack II to a new phone. And before anyone tells me what carrier to use, I have to let you know that I'm stuck with ATT -.-

It's a tossup right now with the iPhone 4, Samsung Captivate, and Palm Pre.
Much as I'd like to avoid having the internet and paying ATT up the *** for service, I don't think i'll ever use more than 2GB per month... How fast does it take to reach 200MB for you internet phone users? I think facebook checking, forum posting, and referencing locations and telephone numbers would be my most used features.

Anyways I'm happy that ATT is releasing a "full" featured Android phone that offers some competition. Not liking how ATT crippled the Captivate though. I've heard there are easy solutions on getting an unsigned android app onto ATT android phones... (Dangit if Sprint can get a keyboard version of the Galaxy S, why can't we?). Think there will be a problem with rooting the Captivate and putting Android 2.2 on it?

I absolutely hated the old PalmOS system. However I do hear good things about the new WebOS.

The iPhone 4 antennae problem looks annoying. If I did buy it, i'd wait for apple to fix the problem, or buy a rubber case for it. I like the look of the iPhone 4 and want to just put a nice screen protector on both sides (yes I know it uses gorilla glass). I also don't like that they downclocked the Hummingbird 1 Ghz to 800Mhz (ish).

So your opinions? Constructive feedback please, no flames

There is absolutely no plan to buy a Win Mo 7 phone when they come out =P
But in light of my original post... for what reasons bunni?

I was playing with the iPhone4 at the ATT store yesterday. I held it in my hand as I normally do and noticed the loss in signal reception

    Mines usles:

    • crashes
    • BLUE SCREENS (yes on your cell phone).
    • Freezes, had a alarm clock program on my phone, cant tell you how many times ive overslept because my phone froze (thus alarm never went off)
    • Plus windows loves to play the selective update game. Major updates have been released for my phones os' fixing HUGE problems, but i cannot get them because Verizon does not support them because Verizon stopped supporting my phone 2 weeks after they scammed me into buying it.
    • Everything cost money, unlike androids free market, windows market is a competitive game to see who can charge the most for a silly phone app.
    • Stupidly slow, resource hog. No really for example takes 2-3 rings before caller id pulls the caller id... sad.. Not just my phone, friend has a phone with new mobile 7 on it... just as shitty as mine....

I love my palm pre, there are no apps for it but it is completely open. Like Red Hat 5.2. Brings back memories.

if you are stuck with ATT, I would say get the iPhone. You will love the apps and being able to live search things, and GPS things (iphone has GPS right?)
