Thread: Possible new build

I know we have had a lot of people here who have built some i7 machies, what motherboards did you use? I don't really see any need for 4 PCI-E slots. Hopefully the on board audio and nic will both be adequate so I will not need anything buy my video card using up a slot.

My mobo is a Gigabyte EX58-UD5, but that's old news now. Even my i7 920 is being discontinued after a year -.-
That case pretty much looks like the case Ewok had when we were up there for LANFest. It's a good case
The GTX 460 showed impressive results and in SLI even bested a GTX480

I'd say upgrade to a real sound solution later. Either the Auzentech X-Fi Forte 7.1 or ASUS Xonar DX. The Auzentech is way more expensive but has far more features.
