Quick Remote Desktop Login Question
I remote into a lot of different servers for my job and the logins basically stay the same for most part, so I save the credentials to auto-login when I punch in the IP. The problem that Im having is with servers that have the credentials locally on the machine instead of using a domain. Every time it defaults to a domain instead of using the local machine name when logging me in.
Example:
creds saved as
login = NAME
pw = PW
When the remote session tries to log me in, it includes a domain on the name so it looks like Im trying to login to WRONGDOMAIN\NAME, which obviously doesnt have my login creds.
Is there something I can put in my saved login creds to tell it to sign me in locally? Like ..NAME or \NAME? I have tried searching the issue but have come up empty-handed...
Thanks.

Re: Quick Remote Desktop Login Question
Hmm. well one possible solution is to use RWD (remote web desktop). I know with this it just logs in with whatever you fill in, and does so locally
It's still the same RDP session it's just initiated through your browser.
Though doing this means settings up IIS and having an additional port open on the machine to hand out the RWD login page.
I'll see if there is anything else that might allow it to hand correct credentials in on login hmm.
Btw have you simply tried specifying a domain such as: localhost\USER ?Last edited by GReYVee; 07-26-10 at 06:44 PM.
