Front Mic Panel busted, any idea how to fix it or recommendations for a USB headset?
I was playing TF2 on Wednesday this week, and when it was time for dinner I got up and tripped on the cord for my Headset. I guess the force caused the Front Mic Panel Jack to tilt forward a little. Cause now when I try to plug anything into it, I have to push it on a little to get it to work. Realtek won't pick it up any either way, and when I plug it in to Back Panel Jack, no luck there either. Realtek recognizes it, but the Mic doesn't produce playback, even with 100 Volume and +30 db of gain.
If anyone knows a way to fix this let me know, or if you have any USB headsets you can recommend, that'll be fine too. Because I'm sure my Logitech Quickcam won't do so well when I'm doing Podcasts. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

So, are you sure it's the jack and not the mic plug that's damaged? If so, is there any way to access the jack from inside the PC case and repair it? If not, have you figured out why the rear jack doesn't work? In my (admittedly limited) experience, the front jacks are usually the one's to go on the fritz since they're usually connected by wires running around various components and cables to the motherboard. Check in your Realtek control panel and be sure the rear jacks haven't been disabled.
My (one time) experience with a USB headset (Plantronics Gamecom 777) was not a good one; the sound was poor, and I exchanged them for the cheaper plug version, which sounds quite good."A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."
