Automatic shut down

It's my MOBO

I am contacting them to see if that is under warranty.. I bought it a little over a year ago and certain things have a 3 year warranty on it so .. cross your fingers for me..

could be a usb short... had that happen on a tower. one of the metal usb prons touched the side of the case and cased similar symptoms.

I took it in and told them i thought it was that .
plus I looked at all the wires before I took it in. Nothing was off in that area.

sorry, i ment like the usb socket itself, the metal prons in the usb socket on the case. If that makes sense... see if i can find a picture....

It is my motherboard can anyone suggest another one.. The one that is currently in there is a asus m3a78-cm. I have a 650 Watt power supply and if you need any more info let me know.

what processor and ram do you have?

Bear in mind that any change in the motherboard will necessitate a re-activation of your Windows operating system. That's not a major issue, apparently, if it's due to a MB failure, but you will probably have to call Microsoft to accomplish the re-activation. Now, if you replace it with an identical MB, re-activation should not be necessary.

Just something to consider.
