help with laptop monitor for extra desktop display

so ive got an old compaq laptop with a pretty nice lcd screen. so i removed the screen and this is what im left with. can anyone help me out? i need to find out which wires to use to solder onto a vga adapter. if thats possible. anything to make this work for a second display.

I have two sets of wires, one bundle on the left and two wires coming out the right side, one says AUX the other says MAIN

(left to right) braided strands are orange w black wire and ground wire, two strands of red w black and ground, brown w black and ground,
single wires are, two black, two brown, two orange, two red, two yellow
    right is 5 ground wires

These are the AUX and MAIN wires that went to a little add in card inside the laptop that said broadcom. anyone have an idea what this is?

Those two wires in the bottom pic likely go to your WiFi adapter.

As for the rest of the project, this is no easy task. I read an article about this in the past. Someone was trying to make a custom display out of 3 17" notebook screens. The real challenge is getting power to the screen. The notebook screens don't get power through a normal power adapter. You will actually need to find a separate power supply for powering the monitor's back light.

Personally, I don't think this will be an easy project. You might be better off selling the screen on eBay and buying a new desktop monitor.

Look up the model number and you might be able to find the wiring diagram online. It's worth a shot.
