Need suggestions

So i amcurrently fixing up a computer for my brother. The old vid card in it is shot so i need a new one. The vid card that was in it before was a Radeon 9800 pro. And i need a new case for it also. Anyone have any suggestions? I am lookin to hopefully spend less then 150 total.

Only thing if this computer must be able to run WoW or i think my little brother would sit on me till i got him one that would run wow. I might be his older sister but he is a 15 yr old who is 5'8 and weighs way more then me.

Is the 9800 Pro an AGP or PCI-E card? If it is AGP, then you are likely out of luck on upgrading the GPU.

Ooo...didn't think about that. I think the 9800 Pro is AGP only.

You'll need a new motherboard.

Cant get a new motherboard.... Hell if i can find something similar to the 9800 pro that is agp that would work. this isnt about upgrading that card its about replacing cause that card is dead.

Though, to run even WoW on medium to high-ish settings, he should really look into getting a new mobo to move to PCI-E. Any AGP card you are going to find is barely going to be able to run it even on low.

i was able to run it np on that comp. This comp is my old comp.

New motherboard probably come into play in the future maybe as furute bday or xmas presents... as this is his first comp i want him to work on it on his own and learn about it since he is wanting to get a career in the tech industry.
