headin into the city in a while thinking i'd stop by bestbuy or office depot look for a mouse but whats the big diff laser vs optical mouse ?

Really though, the biggest difference is tracking ability. Laser tends to track better over surfaces that optical has trouble with. Other than that, its a matter of finding a dpi you like.
