Today my problem is my mic

just went to super low broadcasting volume the other day (according to folks in my squad.) I figured it was just the life span of my wal mart special headphones and bought a new one.

But I am still getting little or no output when I talk in the mic even with the new set.
I have dual speakers that I plug my mic/headphones into and have never had a prob before. I am running WIN 7 and have been for 8+ months. I have checked all the "obvious" volume spots in windows, but am stumped atm.

Any suggestions?

What sort of sound card do you have?

just ran out and bought a USB headphone/mic set and it seems to be working.

Sound is VIA audio. USB mic seems to be bypassing it. It's not showing up in the VIA audio deck.

My current guess is that some update or another messed the VIA up.

I will try to roll back drivers or search for different ones tomorow.

USB headsets bypass whatever sound card you have in them. They are a sound device of their own.

Weirdest thing. I procrastinated for a week and then, went to try my old headphones before beginning the process of troubleshooting....and the bugger was now working.
Has been working in game too.

Don't know why or what happened whilst I was using my new USB headphones, but whatever.
