id also recommend getting a 2.1 hs and use virtual 7.1, rather than the lame 5.1hw->7.1 mixer sw. The 2.1 with virtual 7.1 owns.

The G35s are really solid. I am not concerned with the pivot point, but I also learned with my Razer headphones that only an idiot throws a $130 headset out of frustration.

Going along with Bunni's idea, my own Gamecom 777 headset is great for virtual surround. Its cheap, sounds great, and the Dolby surround can be disabled by a switch at the converter.

It is USB, but this thing is very sturdy and comfortable.

    Why no rank?

Because that isn't why or how I play.

I must say I havent thrown my headset... Just long hours of gaming. But I did like the sound out of it, just the design was sorta flimsy :/
