    Waterblock for Radeon 5770?

I have been having a hard time and have had no luck finding a Water block for my XFX Radeon 5770.. i was going to pick up another one, but they would be so close together, the stock cooler would not get any airflow to the top card. i have a water loop already run for my cpu and if i get the second 5770 i want to water cool both video cards. does anyone know of a water block that will fit these cards?? thanks

Do i need a full coverage waterblock or would i be fine w something like this, http://www.koolance.com/water-coolin...product_id=566
and then just getting small heatsinks everything else?

I would get something that says it's designed specifically for your product. Otherwise you might end up with an expensive paper weight.

    yeah but i seen this,

MAJOR disaster with EK-5770 waterblock and XFX 5770
"I wish I would have known this sooner about EK's 5770's not being able to fit on XFX's 5770 cards. Turns out XFX has changed their PCB design and the waterblock doesn't even remotely fit. It also seems that HIS, MSI, and GIGABYTE are doing the same thing which leaves me with one statement: Just wtf..... So my question to everyone is this: What 5770 card is going to work with the EK block?!?..."

Just curious... why invest that much in the 5770? Are you running two of them in CrossfireX yet? It might be time to invest in a beefier graphics card instead of dumping a lot into this one.

Like i said in the first post, i was going to get another 5770 so i would be running crossfireX. but to do that, i really need to liquid cool the top card because the fan would be sitting on top of the bottom card and not get any air. and i just bought this card maybe two months ago. i dont want to scrap it and go with something totally different yet.

edit: also, this card is very loud and runs hot to begin with, it wouldnt hurt to be liquid cooled anyway. and why not since i already have a cpu loop in the case.

I think Heavy's point is... by the time you buy another 5770 and 2 waterblocks... you're investing way more than you're going to get in return as far as performance is concerned.

well, what about the 6870? would one of those be just as good or better than two 5770's?

    Re: Waterblock for Radeon 5770?

Check out this review from PCPER and decide for yourself:

PC Perspective - AMD Radeon HD 6870 and 6850 Review - Barts Architecture Refresh

I am not sure if it will beat out two 5770s, but I bet it will be better for DX11 games. The 6870 performs pretty much equally to the 5850. I am a solid believer in the GTX 460s. Two 460s will swamp a single 6870.

Why do you assume that the other card will be too hot? The factory air cooler should be fine, even for some overclocking.
